Table Horse - Wagon
The Wagon Table is set at the ideal height of 730mm with a top of 2000mm long, 1110/780mm wide, you can sit 4 or more people comfortably. The yellow concrete bullet hole legs have been coloured to match the steel top. The mosaic top features 2 horses pulling a wagon thru the mountainous valley. At 2 metres long the Wagon table is a statement piece. It needs to win the room or the courtyard. Hands down
This forms part of the Table Horse series presented as part of the National Gallery of Victoria’s 2024 Design Week . The title refers to a ‘play on words’ explored as motifs in mosaic compositions atop fabricated steel tables. Primarily represented as distortions, the subjects of these compositions survey the charm of westerns films, cowboys or even rodeo culture.
Each table is unique and hand made in-house. The mild steel construction is zinc powder-coated, with a polyurethane top coat. The top is then constructed with a ceramic tile finish on a cement base, with industry standard tile adhesive and grout.
